Born in Philadelphia, PA

I am a middle-aged woman who is married with five children and currently four grandchildren. For many years I have spent documenting our family’s growth and celebrated milestones through photography. Additionally I am also middle school Computing Technology Skills teacher and currently work with students in grades fifth through eighth. I applied my sense of documenting to capture school year moments in order to create yearbooks and a tribute DVD consisting of activities, events, trips, sports, and clubs that are focused on eighth grade students in the form of slideshows set to music with various themed segments.

 

When composing shots in this setting the focus is on posed and off guard shots to create a variety of imagery for both the yearbook in the DVD. Due to my years of capturing my family at events made composing these images with familiarity.

 

Making photos outside of events happens when a scene opens up before me and in at that moment I am compelled to capture it. Any scene that causes my mind to be awe stricken be either color, light, perspective or any unique to me feature that I must keep for further review, much like butterfly catching.
